Tomato Cravings

I’m craving some fresh, ripe, home grown tomatoes.

For most of my life I hated tomatoes unless they were purred in sauce.

Those store bought tomatoes with their gased red outside and creepy looking greens just didn’t sound appealing to me.

This all changed when I tasted a garden tomato sprinkled with salt and sugar.

My tomato love was born!

Back to my tomato craving:

So what do I do?

I label and start my Seeds of Change leeks and 6 varieties of tomatoes!

My mom gave me all these cut up blinds to use for labeling with Sharpies.

They work great, super easy to write on!

I wrote the type of plant at the top, variety, days until plant matures,

amount of sun and water needed on the side.

Cute, huh?

My pile of tomato seeds!

I can’t wait to see which ones do the best.

The ripe tomatoes should range from 1 oz. to 16 oz.

There will be beautiful golden yellow, pink and red tomatoes.

If all goes well I will only have to wait a couple of months until I can satisfy my craving 🙂

  1. Thanks for the seedlings you started for me in your sunny kitchen. I’m hoping for some tasty tomatoes by my August birthday.
