Lightning Shrug (c) 2013 KnitScene

I am over the moon about my latest project because it was published in the Spring 2013 issue of KnitScene! Interweave has always played a huge role in my personal knitting and designing. I remember when I was young grabbing armloads of Knits magazines and Interweave books to spread over a table at my local library. I was absolutely fascinated that you could follow writing instructions to make an exact replica of the design without a paper pattern.

I could barely contain my excitement when KnitScene started showing up at the library. Simple to knit designs with a fresh and youthful look was just what my younger self was looking for!

About my shrug: The main body is a rectangle worked on the bias, stitches are picked up for the sleeves ribbing, after a small amount of seaming stitches are picked up and are worked in the round for the ribbed collar. Simple to knit, extremely wearable, and it’s fantastic for showing off hand dyed and tonal yarns.

I always dreamed of someday getting into an Interweave magazine and of writing a book. Part 1 of that dream is complete.
